12 Day North and South Tour
Explore Ethiopia’s 12-day adventure through Erta Ale, Dallol, Gheralta churches, Axum, Lalibela, and Omo Valley tribes. Discover history, culture, and unforgettable landscapes.

Uncover the soul of Eritrea in a 5-day escape: land in chic, Italian-era Asmara, where modernist architecture (like Cinema Impero and Fiat Tagliero) meets vintage cafés and WWII history. Then cruise down breathtaking mountain roads to the historic port city of Massawa, soaking up Ottoman-Italian architecture before hopping on a boat to snorkel in the crystal-clear waters of the Dahlak Islands.
Next, wind through the rugged highlands to Keren, where vibrant markets and a miraculous baobab-tree chapel await all wrapped in warmth, wonder, and authentic Eritrean charm.
1
Upon arrival in Eritrea, you will meet and greet our representative who will welcome you to Asmara and transfer from the airport to Crystal Hotel overnight. We will have short visit of Asmera city.
2
After breakfast, you’ll visit modernist Asmara, inscribed in the UNESCO Heritage List and the city called “Piccola Roma” (Little Rome) and architectural wonders portrayed in many of its buildings such as the Roman Catholic cathedral, St Mary Orthodox church, Al Khulafa al Rashedin, Market [vegetable, spices, souvenir, Medeber (recycling depot)], National Museum, Fiat Tagliero building, Tank graveyard.
In the afternoon, en route to Massawa highway through the town of Ghindae, with enthralling dramatic snaking bends, vistas, cool air, and sometimes a veil of mist over the horizon. Upon arrival, you’ll check-in at Dahlak Grand Hotel for dinner and overnight.

3
After breakfast, we’ll board a motorboat to the discovery of “the pearls of Red Sea” – Dahlak Islands. Here you will have sufficient time for leisure, swimming, snorkeling, and fishing.
Scattered over a vast area of the Red Sea like a string of pearls upon the azure, translucent waters of the Red Sea, more than 350 Eritrean islands, among which more than 200 islands belong to the Dahlak Archipelago, remain one of the last great unspoiled destinations in the world. Before the sunset, we will return from the islands to Massawa Dahlak Grand Hotel for dinner and overnight.
4
On the fourth day, you will visit the most interesting and unique places in Massawa. Massawa is known for its’ combination of Turkish and Italian Architecture styles, an apparent indication of its Ottoman and Italian colonial history. There is, among others, an old Turkish Palace and a Modern Port built by the Titians at the turn of the 20th Century. Proceed to Keren arriving before nightfall. Dinner and overnight will be at Sarina Hotel.
5
After breakfast, we’ll embark on a sightseeing tour of the city of Keren. Worth-seeing places are the Italian and British war cemeteries, the mosque and the little Greek church near the market, the governor countryseat, the Romanesque Saint Michael church, and the old Fortress (1,460 Mt. high). Last but not least, a visit to “Mariam Dearit” (Our Lady of Baobab), a chapel built inside the tree itself.
Stopping at the Sanctuary of the Madonna del Baobab, linked to a miraculous story that saved the lives of some Italian soldiers, they made it as their thanks to God because they took shelter there during the British bombings in 1941. Later in the afternoon, we will drive to Asmara where you will drop off at the airport or accommodation. End of services!
